The Meatrix (see above)- 3.75mins

The Meatrix spoofs The Matrix films and highlights the problems with factory farming. Instead of Keanu Reeves, The Meatrix stars a young pig, Leo, who lives on a pleasant family farm… he thinks. Leo is approached by a trenchcoat-clad cow, Moopheus, and joins him on a journey to learn more about what goes on behind closed barn doors at factory farms.

Video tour of Queen’s Wood Organic Garden – 8.5mins

Lucy Roots gives us quick tour of Queen’s Wood Organic Garden. Behind the Lodge building is an organic garden often overlooked by wood and café users. It is surrounded by trees but in spite of this has a tranquil quality with flowers, fruit and vegetables growing side by side and bees from the hives gathering pollen.

The Big Dig – 4.5mins

A great video from Transition Tufnell Park about how they helped transform a local resident’s garden.

Food Cooperatives (Portraits of the Solidarity Economy) – 6mins

In a solidarity economy, our needs are met by exchanging goods, services, resources and knowledge in ways that advance core values of justice, democracy, cooperation, and ecological sustainability. This video is about a Food Co-op store in New York City, USA.

Greening the Desert – 5mins

How Geoff Lawton applied Permaculture Princples in Jordan to re-green a part of the desert. They laughed and said it couldn’t be done…

Grow Heathrow – “Everything’s Changing” – 4.5mins

Transition Heathrow members swoop on an abandoned market garden site in Sipson; one of the villages to be completely tarmacced to make way for a third runway at Heathrow. 2 years later the site has been transformed from a derelict mess into a beacon of community strength and a great example of how to live sustainably on this planet. Grow Heathrow is under threat of eviction and will be appearing at Central London County Court on 18th & 19th June 2012 > http://transitionheathrow.com/

Total running time: 33mins
